Carol Norris, MFT : Psychotherapy for the body, mind, brain and spirit |
ABout Me
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in New Mexico. I've had the privilege of seeing clients since 1994. My experience has taken me from private practice to psychiatric ER rooms to community mental health and partial hospitalization programs to mobile crisis teams, responding to mental health-related 911 calls. For many years, an average week in my former home of San Francisco, CA found me wearing multiple hats: In addition to my private practice, I was Adjunct Faculty in the Clinical Psychology Department at San Francisco State University, supervising second year masters students studying to be psychotherapists, with a special focus on group work. One day a week, I was the in-house therapist at a transitional program for formerly incarcerated women reuniting with their young children, doing therapy, staff training and supervising. I was also the clinical consultant at a social justice-focused rape crisis center doing trainings for staff and volunteers, as well as trauma therapy for clients. In Santa Fe, where I've happily called home since 2012, I'm delighted that my private practice also found a happy home at 360 Medicine, a holistic health clinic founded and run by integrative family physician, Dr. Russ Canfield. 360 Medicine is aligned with my integrative approach where all aspects of a person are considered and respected: body, mind, brain, relationships, community(ies), cultures, and spirit. My current focus is working with trauma and adults with chronic illness, individually and in groups. I also offer ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) when it's clinically indicated. To learn more about my approach, please go here. In addition to seeing clients at my office, I do therapy sessions, consultations, and trainings via phone or secure video. This has proved helpful for folks who have health challenges that may make regular in-person visits difficult.* I use she/her pronouns. *I work with many immune compromised folks, and Covid-19 continues to be a concern for these folks. Additionally, many folks are bed bound or too ill to leave the house. As such, my practice has become a hybrid one. I offer in person and video sessions. |
